Writing so far.
Writing is a portal to understanding
someone else's world.
I write most days. I prioritise 'Magic Hour', my dedicated writing time, regardless of what else is happening in the day. This can be alone, or I join others in an early morning online writing group. During term time, I often connect with another online group to share my work and provide feedback. For smaller writing projects, I produce blogs or enter competitions. I reflect on life and write memoir. I imagine alternative endings and create autofiction. Other times, I go all out and just make stuff up that becomes short stories. My novel, Mock Orange, is my longer-term project.

Mock Orange
Mock Orange is the story of a middle-aged woman’s journey to unearth her true self. Think of Vita Sackville-West mixed with messy self-help, and a lifetime of masking. It's incidentally queer, and a haven for readers to discover themselves, or for allies to learn more. This novel offers a new way to understand neurodiversity. Read more here.
The Bournemouth Journal
I am Fiction Editor for The Bournemouth Journal, a new online publication showcasing upcoming writers. As the first person in this role, I have been involved in the early thinking and logistics. Students on Bournemouth University's Creative Writing and Publishing MA have taken the lead on sifting through submissions and compiling the first two issues. Learn more about it here.
